Dear Major League Baseball,
My name is Kenneth Snipps and I need your help.
I am a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and I was absolutely thrilled to see pitcher Jake Westbrook get his 100th career victory against the Brewers last night.
This morning I saw my neighbor, Mr. Biggs, and proceeded to tell him about the game.
Mr. Biggs looked around nervously and asked me what I was doing.
I again began to discuss last night’s victory for the Cardinals, and again Mr. Biggs waved his arms vigorously and begged me to stop.
He then explained that I was breaking the law.
When I said I was not, he asked me to provide proper documentation.
According to Mr. Biggs, I need to obtain written permission from Major League Baseball before discussing the events of the game.
I went back to my house and popped in the VCR recording I made of the game, and sure enough, I heard the announcers say,
“Any Rebroadcast, Retransmission, or Account of this Game, without the Express Written Consent of Major League Baseball, is Prohibited.”
Therefore, could you please give me permission to talk about this, and soon. My short term memory is not very good and If I wait too long I’m going to start forgetting things.
Thank you for reading and responding to my letter.
